Located in the heart of the DMV, CrabHacks is a one-day high
school hackathon focusing on sharing the hackathon experience
with teenagers and serving underserved communities in the DMV
area.
Participants will have the opportunity to work in teams, tackle
exciting challenges, and showcase their projects to peers and
mentors.
Don't miss out on this chance to unleash your potential and have
fun while doing it!
A hackathon is an exciting event where you turn innovative ideas into real projects, and CrabHacks is the perfect example! Join us for our 4th anniversary in Bethesda, where you'll spend 10 hours coding alongside passionate peers in a vibrant atmosphere. Enjoy free food, swag, expert mentorship, and technical workshops while competing for epic prizes. Plus, you can take breaks to explore Washington DC or Bethesda. At CrabHacks, we handle the logistics so you can focus on transforming your wildest tech dreams into reality!
The "hack" in hackathon doesn't actually mean infiltrating a system or computer. It's a lot simpler than that. In this context, hacking means creating a rough solution to a problem, so a hackathon would be a coding marathon where teams attempt to create a solution to a problem.
NOTHING! The hackathon is free! All you need to do is register. If you are experiencing financial difficulties that prevent you from attending this hackathon, please reach out to us at [email protected]
You'll get free food, drinks, swag, and a project you can show your friends or add to your resume!
That's alright! We will have workshops over the course of the hackathon that can teach you the basics of programming. And, hackathons are the perfect place to learn through your peers!
Don't worry! We will have a team formation session at the beginning of the hackathon.
Please bring a laptop and charger! We'll provide everything else. If you are unable to bring a laptop due to financial difficulties, please contact us at [email protected]
